Where LPO support staff in Australia and overseas are used, we maintain compliance with the Australian Privacy Principles, adherence to appropriate data security, IT, and confidentiality protocols, and limit the use of data to the provision of support services to our practice.
Additionally, we use secure, reputable third-party service providers for data storage and internal operations, such as Google Workspace. These providers are subject to their own stringent privacy and security obligations. While their servers may be located in various countries, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

(a) Security
We take the security of your information very seriously. We use a range of technical, administrative, and physical security measures to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. These measures include:

(b) Retention

In accordance with our professional obligations, we are required to keep your file for a minimum of 7 years after your matter is finalised. After this period, your file and the personal information it contains will be securely and permanently destroyed.

You have a right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to request its correction if you believe it is inaccurate, out-of-date, or incomplete.
